Thursday November 19thFrom: 3:30pm to 8:30pmAt De Anza College, Conference room A&BNovember 19 General Assembly at De AnzaPurpose and explanation of the General Assembly:Budget cuts are a huge problem. In order to campaign against the budget cuts all schools must act in a unified manner, campaign against the budget cuts, and bring out our own demands and solutions. With this Purpose a State-Wide conference was held on October 24 in UC Berkeley. Around 800 individuals assisted representing different Student groups and Unions at UC, CSU, CC, and K-12 level. The following decision was reached after a long democratic process: All schools are to call for General Assembly in order to campaign against the budget cuts, Solidarity action with UCs will be taken from November 17-19, and March 4th will be a State-Wide Walkout/Day of Action.A General assembly is a democratic body were all participants are equal and have the right to vote. The purpose of having one in our campus is to involve as many De Anza individuals and organizations in the struggle against budget cuts in general. In the General Assembly we discuss and organize a successful March 4th Walkout/Day of Action.
